Collective action: statement
In response to the overwhelming response to the BMA ballot in regard to proposed contractual changes due to be implemented later this year, the practices in East Cleveland PCN wish to clarify that they are in support of the collective action proposed and voted for by BMA members and fellow GP’s.
Practices wish to clarify that they are not ‘on strike’. There are 10 proposed actions for practices to take and although there may be variation in which individual practices adopt, they agree that they do not wish to affect patient care in any way but rather ensure resilience within their existing GP and practice teams; something which the proposed contractual changes would impact.
Practices will inform patients should anything change. However in the meantime they reiterate that they are in full support of this action.
